12th day of Peak Season
I was so tired yesterday I didn't even make my closing for the 11th day.
The moment I got in, Supervisor #2 was already here. She immeidately told me to log in under 13 code. I was puzzled, cause 13 code is something no one ever uses.
After I did, I followed her toward the breifing room. Soon in the hallway, Kane, Super Nerd, Moxie, Malibu, Space Rat, and Iron Lung joined us. "You have any idea what is happening?" I asked Kane.
"Maybe they want our opinion on the food." Kane smirked.
The moment we got into the breifing room, I knew something was fishing. Top Brass was already there, along with Phoniex. She is looking over some papers, not even acknowleding that we are here. Supervisor #2 motions for to sit down. I find me a chair, as my co-workers find theirs. Space Rat takes the nearest counter, perching up to listen. Top Brass then comes over with a smile. "Thank you all for joining me." he says, "I want to thank you for all your efforts in Peak Season. It's been a grueling time for everyone. Alll your stats have been excellent, but now I must ask you for one dangerous trial."
"What trial, sir?" Kane asks.
"The rescue of your co-worker, Big Stan." he says.
There are a round of gasps and awe from us at the news. Moxie is the first to raise her hand. "Who found him, sir?"
"Our deep cover operative, Phoniex." Top Brass points to her.
She then stands up and begins to speak. "Big Stan was caught behind enemy lines during a call back. He was forced to stay till the job was done and now he has no method of escape. Your job will be to bring him back to the call center."
"Where is he?" I ask.
"Lilburn." she responds coldly.
"Lilburn?" Super Nerd gasps.
"He might as well be on the far side of the moon." Kane sighs.
"We are all aware of what dangers lurk in Lilburn." Top Brass continues, "Therefore, each of you have been selected to go on this misson. I know you won't let the call center down and especially, not Big Stan."
I gently massage my forehead. This isn't how I wanted to spend my Tuesday.
